Has anyone tried UAD Console Recall plugin recently ?
Earlier it has been reported that it crashes gigperformer:

Would the problem solve itself in a newer OS (Ventura) and perhaps other CPU (M1) ?
If it works, is it worth it to buy an Apollo interface for better (real-time) vst performance ?
Most likely this wouldn’t help. IMHO, it would only help that certain amount of users beat up the support so devs consider fixing the bug.
To be clear, you’re talking about UAD support/devs.
I have often researched the UAD Apollo and thought I wanted it for the Unison dynamic input impedance for realer guitar tones.
But I was always put off by the hoops you need to jump through to get their legacy drivers installed on Macs. Red flag to me.

By “hoops” you mean circumventing macOs safety features (User-Approved Kernel Extension Loading) ? I believe this is something we have to live with if we want low latency drivers. I have the same issues with my UR44c:
