Is it possible to have 1 instance with safp on 1 macbook and 1 instance with VST plugins and having them communicate to each other like PC through GP Relayer.
You can communicate between the 2 systems with OSC for synchronization things.
for MIDI you can use network sessions
GP Relayer is only working between instances or programs support GP Relayer on the same machine.
A payed alternative could be Blue Cat Connector. Blue Cat's Connector - Audio and MIDI Streaming Plug-In (VST, AU, VST3, AAX)
How do I do that
I have no experience with OSC
What do you want to send between the 2 computers?
I want to control my safp on 1 computer with my setlist on the other computer.
OK, that is doable sending OSC messages.
Connect the 2 computers to the same network.
In the OSC settings of the 2 computers set the correct IP-Adresses and Ports.
By default the main instance is sending OSC messages when you switch a song.
On the slave instance you can react on that OSC messages and do whatever you want.
For my understanding: When you switch a song on the main instance a corresponding song the on the SAFP on the slave instance should be selected?
How should the SAFP being started?
When you press global Play in the main instance?
When that is the case you can use LINK and start/stop is automatically done.
Now I have an idea:
Build identical songs in the main and slave instance.
Enable Song/SongPart Sync in the options of Gig Performer.
Use Link for sync of Start/stop
No scripting or OSC needed.
Sync Start/Stop
Sync Song Changes / Rackspace Changes
This YouTube Short is also convenient.
I see ableton link but I don’t use ableton
GP supports LINK, so you can sync Tempo/Start/Stop in GP
No need to use Ableton at all.
Is is the protocol GP can use.
Ok thanks I’ll try that
