A number of my rackspaces have Kontakt 6 instances. I now have Kontakt 7 and wish to migrate across. Anybody know the most efficient way of doing that without having to select the library within each instance again (and re-apply the various settings)?
Would it be easier to just keep Kontakt 6 on songs you have it set up for? (Unless there is some feature of Kontakt 7 you want to us.)
The Kontakt instruments created with Kontakt 6 can be loaded with Kontakt 7
What issue do you face?
Stay with 6 for now. 7 still has a few bugs. If you do decide to use 7, make backups first because you can’t open a k7 instrument in k6
No issue, it’s just that I’ve not saved any of my kontakt settings for any of the instruments loaded. I’ve just saved their current state in the gig file. I’ll keep using both for now
Unfortunately, some recent instruments only work with K7.
In addition, I did an update of Stradivari Cello but when I tried to load it I got a message saying that this version only worked in K7 and I couldn’t find any way to reinstall the previous version of the instrument.
If anyone knows how, I’ll be happy to return to K6.
This seems to be the case for updates of other instruments too, so check when they are offered.
Do you have a backup of your hard drive?
Yes, but the instrument opens in demo mode because it is not managed by Native Access to authenticate it, and I haven’t found any way in Native Access to recognize this old pack.
Do you know this?

Done! Thank you a lot
I had searched the internet but did not get this link in the results…
Is it working?
Yes, that’s right. There are installers for some forty instruments, including the previous version of Stradivari Cello.
The 17 MB installer contains, among other things, a “Reset File Date EXE-PlugIn.dll” file, which lets you reuse the sound library without having to reinstall it.
Thanks again for this information.
