Timeline per video/VST

I wish to use GP for playing along to videos via VidPlay VST.
Is there a way to use timeline actions for such a scenario, as per streaming audio player?

Thanks.

I just downloaded the trial version—looks pretty fun!
It looks like you can sync the play/stop of the video with the global playhead, so the Streaming Audio File Player actions should be able to work.

But I don’t want to convert video audio to mp3 for streaming audio player, just use VidPlay VST.
How can I make use of timeline actions for this?

(Haven’t yet committed to GP)

What sort of actions would you want to perform while playing along with the video?

and when?

Things like program change via midi cc; or tempo change…

Yes, you can set up actions to perform all of those things.

I sometimes just use the timeline of the Streaming Audio File Player to perform actions in GP and elsewhere. I have 5 and 10 minute silent mp3 files that I use for this purpose, so no actual music is playing from the file itself. It is just a placeholder so I can add markers and actions on a timeline.

Doesn’t matter if it’s silent - just don’t connect the outputs

Of course. The silent mp3s just don’t give any visual waveform clutter.

Thanks for the ‘outside-the-box’ solution folks!
I’ll hunt down those mp3s !
