Once it is set up it should take you about 30 seconds (or less in the case of just two sustain pedals(?)) to recall Rig Manager settings at a rehearsal/gig.
Also, it is probably good to follow a certain order every time you set up. This might make it less likely you will even have to spend the 30 seconds with the Rig Manager.
So, in my situation I have two sets of duplicate keyboards. So, I sometimes have issues where the correct keyboard is not being triggered or (more likely) the controllers are not responding. When I have an issue, it takes me less than an minute to get it corrected using the Rig Manager.
But, I find I am less likely to have an issue at all if I 1. connect everything first. 2. Then turn on keyboards. 3. Then turn on computer and open GP.
In the case of @yannthekeys there is only one rig, but the remedy is always the same: if something changes it could indeed be fixed easily before playing using the Rig Manager.
Could there be some wireless equipment (Bluetooth etc) in your rehearsal space that connects to your Mac when you rehearse and that is what is changing the USB port order when you boot up? Either way, it still sounds like Rig Manager is your solution.
I have created 2 rigs in the rig manager ( home and live ) . I have created 2 aliases to the sustain pedals and affected it to the widgets . I will see next rehearsal … i cross my fingers . Thanks for the answers folks
Need to see the list of midi ports to diagnose the problem further.
Also, would be useful to see the Global MIDI Monitor view after pressing/releasing the sustain pedal from each location.
