I’ve been building a pair of live-performance plugins, mainly because I wanted proper tempo-synced MIDI and audio phrase triggering inside hosts like Gig Performer without moving my whole live setup to a clip-based DAW.
There are two plugins:
• MIDI FX phrases
Import, record and edit MIDI phrases in a piano roll, then trigger them quantized to tempo while continuing to play live.
• Phrase Audio
Trigger audio phrases, loops and one-shots in sync, including Intro / Loop / Outro behavior.
The two can also work together, so a MIDI phrase can trigger synced audio parts while you continue playing your normal instruments live.
I’ve now tested the plugin in Gig Performer as well. In particular, MIDI FX works well there using the VST3 version.
The project is getting close to release-candidate stage and the current beta is unlimited.
I’d be very interested in feedback from Gig Performer users, especially people using phrase-based MIDI/audio workflows live.

For StagePhrase MIDI FX in Gig Performer, please use the VST3 version. The AU MIDI FX version is primarily intended for Logic/MainStage.
Yes — that’s one of the main ideas behind StagePhrase.
You can trigger a MIDI or audio phrase at any moment, and have it scheduled to start on the next quantized boundary, for example the next beat or next bar.
So in practice it works much like Ableton-style clip launching: press the trigger slightly early, and StagePhrase waits for the next musical boundary before starting the phrase.
You can choose the quantize value per phrase, and there’s also late-trigger handling for cases where the trigger arrives just after the boundary.
On Windows, Gig Performer can do some quantized triggering with its built-in MIDI/audio players and GPScript. reMIDI is also worth a look for MIDI phrases.
I don’t know of a direct Windows equivalent that combines synced Audio + MIDI phrase launching, Catch-Up, Ghost Notes, Scenes and Stacks in one plugin.
