Happy Saturday. Wanted to get some realistic saxophones, so I purchased the SWAM saxes. I also had purchased the TEC breath controller a while back, but hadn’t really had a chance to use it.I’ll load SWAM tonight after work. At the moment I have the VG Sax. I just wanted to make sure I’m hooking things up correctly. Plug the BC onto a usb slot. Computer sees it right away and if I open up GP, it shows as a midi input block. Then choose the VG plug in. When I blow, midi signal is moving the sliders on the vst. Have audio gain controls in line going to a mixer. I’m not seeing any audio leaving the vst going into the gain and mixer. So no sound. Is there something I’m not doing? Tried to read some of the threads but not a lot on the breath controller. Thanks in advance.
When you open up the SWAM plugin while you’re using the breath controlller, do you see the Expression level change? There wont be any sound until you move that level.
I have that combination of products. Works great. Keep troubleshooting and I’m sure you’ll get it working. Mainly check that the keys are working, as well as expression and volume.
I just created a new Rackspace. I added SWAM. I connected my keyboard and breath controller MIDI blocks to it. I connected the audio output to the “To Global Rackspace” block. (I do the audio I/O globally.) I played the keys and blew and it worked.
I can see the breath controller change the expression. I can see the keys animate the virtual keyboard. And I can see a visual representation of the volume in the “hairpin” in the middle of the screen. I also see the wires in the wiring view animate.
Thank you. That set up works.Don’t know why, but it does. I would have spent hours not even guessing that combo. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
I’m glad that solved it. It can be marked as a “Solution”.
I find that the SWAM instruments sound great, especially with subtle saturation and reverb. My challenge is getting used to the breath controller. Like any wind instrument, until one has many hours of practice, it’s fatiguing.
