Tap Tempo Timeout Time

Wow…thats a lot of alliteration…

What is the timeout time between tapping the first beat for tap tempo (either MIDI or GP Script) and GP timing out and resetting the next press to be the first (if that makes sense)?

It seems to be somewhere between 5 and 10s between presses.

I have (or rather, am making…) a custom MIDI controller and wanted to have a timeout on the display to show when the tap tempo button will reset so that if I accidentally press the button I won’t make the tempo drop to some very slow bpm if I pressed it again…

There’s really no specific number and it’s partially a function of the actual current tempo. It’s also one of those things that might change from time to time as we tweak that stuff.
