SWAM Solo Strings: Assigning Expression to Pitch Wheel

Anyone know if I can assign expression in SWAM instruments to my pitch wheel?

When I use their midi learn function, I can assign to other controllers. But I cannot seem to assign it to pitch wheel (there is a reason why I prefer to try this option, if possible).

PS: I tried to remap MIDI cc 11 (Swam’s default for Expression, as understand it) to pitch bend in Gig Performer and that did not work. It “seems” like there is something in the SWAM plugin that does not want users to assign pitch bend to Expression).

Thanks,

Jeff

Why aren’t you using host automation?

and then map your expression wheel to the pitch bend widget?

Hmm, I think we may be missing each other on this. (And I may be missing something!).

I have 2 keyboards that (believe it or not) do not have a modulation wheel (or an “expression wheel”). [I did purchase a midi fader that works, but I am trying to avoid adding new controllers that will slow down my set up. So ignore that].

So, I want to control expression with my pitch bend wheel (I know there are issues in terms of it reverting to the middle, etc.).

Will host automation allow that? (I think SWAM seems to prevent it).

This seems to work for me?

Thank you, David and Ed, I will work on that (and follow up).
