I bet the issue was the wrong channel number.

Correct, it had the wrong channel number in Piano V2. It got mixed up when I was transferring to this one-off (one time use) rig I’m setting up. Thank you for solving!
As a general rule, one should always use channel 1. While some plugins will respond on any channel, most only respond on channel 1.
