I have Superior Drummer 3 (latest update) and Gig Performer 5
I have a midi clip in the SD3 track. If I turn off “follow host” and hit SD3 play, the midi clip plays fine.
But when I set SD3 3.37 VST3 to “Follow Host” when I hit the GP Global Play button, I see in SD3 that its play button is engaged but nothing plays. But if I open the SD3 Grid Editor for the clip, the SD3 Measure jumps to 440 (rather than starting at 1) and the play head doesn’t move.
Before I hit GP Play:
After I hit GP Play:
I confirm similar “does not play” on Superior Drummer 3 for both VST2 and VST3 on Windows.
I have been using the GP midi file player to play tracks into SD3, so I never noticed this.
Until there’s a fix, you can drag midi clips from SD3 into the GP midi file player and have that sync to the global play. I’ve been doing it that way for years, primarily because there’s no switch between tracks in SD3.
SD3’s “follow host” mode seems to work fine in Studio One.

thanks for the confirm. problem is that I use the record feature in sd3 from my mini pad kit as a live looping process. moving from live to gp based rig.
