Streaming file player loop question

Have been using gig performer for a while and love it. I was trying to use the loop feature on the streaming audio player. The issue I am facing is as soon as I turn the loop on the playhead jumps to the loop start instead of waiting to catch the loop. I am wondering if this is by design or if there is a configuration somewhere I can tweak to alter this behavior.

If the player is playing a file of 10 seconds and I have a loop from 5-7 seconds. Lets say currently the player is at 3 secs. The moment I turn the loop in the playhead jumps to 5 seconds and skips anything in between. This is jarring and need to click the button exactly at the downbeat to do anything useful with it. What I would expect is to wait until playhead reaches 5secs and then catch on to the loop. When the looping is turned off the playhead exits the loop after 7th sec.

Being that said, I am wondering if I am using this the right way its intended to. Is there any way this can be used the way I described above?

What you do is wait until the playhead is within the loop region, then turn on loop. The file will continue to play and will loop accordingly from there. Turning off the loop will then result in the file continuing after the end loop point is reached,

loop

Oh cool. I cant understand why I did not try that. I think it was muscle memory from DAW workflow. Thank you so much.

Even though that works do you think we should have an option for the loop enabling work like how a normal DAW will work? I am trying to see if I should do a feature request. Not sure how responsive are developers to user feature requests here though.

But hey it solved my problem. Thank you so much

Yeah, I thought as you did early on, but the developers explained it was not designed to operate like a looper or DAW software.
