Hello,
I was wondering if it is possible to add start/stop markers to a file in the Streaming Audio File Player without having to start/stop the global playhead.
I received some files that are too long, so being able to ‘trim’ the length of the file at the beginning and the end, without having to do that in another editor first, would be great.
Is this possible somehow?
Thx,
Bert
You are using Gig Performer 4?
Do you need to sync SAFP’s playead to the Global playhead?
The SAFP plugin is in the Global rackspace?
Hi,
Yes, still on GP4 as I am in the middle of preparing for concerts in the coming weeks and don’t want to take any risk now I have a stable setup.
The SAFP plugin is indeed in the Global Rackspace, but I don’t need to sync it to the Global playhead for what I would like to do, but I probably can if that’s what’s needed to make it work.
I use the SAFP more or less like a sample player, but with the advantages of the actions in the Markers. So, I just fire up the ‘sample’ and let it play until the end… marker.
I could load up the file in a regular sampler as well, where I can edit start and stop points, but then I loose the great benefits of the Action markers…
That said, the other alternative is to just edit the audio file itself before importing in SAFP. It’s just a bit more work and less flexible in case of changes (especially with the benefits of the new version in GP5 which I am eager to look into after my series of concerts).
Thx,
Bert
