Streaming Audio Player - Follow Playhead Position

I use Gig Performer as both a VST host and to play backing tracks, and it works very well for me. However, I’ve noticed that the “Follow Playhead Position” button in the Streaming Audio Player reverts to an “off” state whenever I reload Gig Performer. I’ve tried toggling it to “on” and saving, but it reverts back every time I quit Gig Performer and reload.

In my case, I always want the playhead to follow the waveform when I play a track. My question then:

  1. Is there a way to set the playhead toggle to “on” and have it persist?
  2. Is there a generalized “Follow Playhead Position always on” setting somewhere?
  3. Failing that, is there a way to map the playhead toggle via MIDI? I’d be happy to assign a button to it on my controller, but it doesn’t appear possible.

Maybe I have missed something obvious?

Thanks for the help.

I don’t believe there’s a way to keep that setting on between sessions. It’s not listed as a parameter for widget mapping, and as you noted, the state of the button doesn’t save with the gig file.

I’m wondering why you want to do this? I understand the usefulness of this in a DAW recording situation but not sure why it is needed in live performance

I’d also like this behavior to be default. I always want the playhead to follow the waveform when I play a track.

I use the player for learning new songs and practice. When I run into a part I need to replay a few times, it’s nice to know where it is from playhead position rather than having to hunt it down.
