Soundtoys PhaseMistress available for free

So, propably in order to create some hype before November sales, Soundtoys decided to offer one of their plugins for free (= for the price of joining their mailing list) for a limited time period. This time they are offering a full plugin instead of a light version (they often do that before announcing a new big release, last time it was Little Plate before SuperPlate).

I’ve seen PhaseMistress in use many times, one of my favorite Finnish producers/sound engineers uses it all the time, but I hadn’t bought it previously since my humble phaser collection was ok (Keyspace has some great phasers for rhodes built in).

But now that its free this was a no-brainer for me. Excellent phaser, does all the classic sounds effortlessly and A LOt more if you like tweaking. Very much recommended!

I’ve had the bundle for years. Soundtoys are about as good as FX gets.

Any issue with iLok License Manager it requires?

I think up to now I have avoided anything using the term “ilock”.

Soundtoys plugins can be licensed for the computer, so no physical iLok dongle or cloud activation required. Only times I’ve had issues with iLok have been cloud activations (like with UAD Native stuff, if you don’t have their hardware), since you have to be online when starting GP or any DAW. But Soundtoys’ stuff will work just fine offline after you first activate them, which’ll take less than a minute. So I wouldn’t worry about iLok here

Thank you. I downloaded and installed it.

I haven’t setup an account with ilok yet.

Probably a good idea, I guess?

Yeah, won’t work without an account.

I “think” they changed something so it does work without an Ilok account.

But, it only runs on one computer per registration number and it can’t be transferred to another computer (?).

So, I will probably set up an Ilok account.
