Soundtoys 5.4 update causes huge cpu spikes

Is anyone else dealing with huge cpu spikes after updating Soundtoys plugins to 5.4? I’m running Windows 10 and the updated Soundtoys plugins (Echo Boy, Superplate, Microshift) are all causing unpredictable spikes up to 100%! Reading online shows this is not only with Gig Performer.

5.4.1 Update

May 24, 2023

  • Fixes issue where some VST3 plug-ins could recall incorrectly.
  • Fixes CPU spiking that could occur in Bitwig.
  • Fixes graphics drawing issues in bypassed Effect Rack plug-ins.
  • Fixes individual SuperPlate installer on Windows (missing Little Plate presets).

Nope. I’m using the latest 5.4.1 update. Still a problem.

I am on 5.4 and I did not notice this CPU spikes, I am on Mac
Did your contact Soundtoys?
Do you have a small rackspace where I could try to reproduce?

That is at least good to know

Same here with the vst2 version of the plugins. Vst3 is ok, though .

Okay, some good news! I totally uninstalled all Soundtoys plugins and did a re-install of the 5.4.1 bundle, only vst3 versions and the problem is gone. No cpu spikes. Hmmm, interesting. I’ll keep testing and post any changes, but for now . .I’m a happy guy.
