Song Part Selection via OSC

Hi.

I have followed the instructions/examples for setting up instances to send and receive OSC message and I now see the Songs in my receiver instance changing to track and match with Songs I select in my sender instance. Good!

However, I am noticing that the Song Parts (under any given Song) do not so track.

This brings me up short of the goal to have my “Gtrs” instance exactly track my “Synths” (Main) instance so that a one touch change gives me both the new synths and the new guitar FX for every Verse,Chorus,Bridge etc. of every Song.

Is it correct that GP currently does not implement Song Part tracking this way? If so, enhancement to enable this seems desirable.

Either (or ideally a choice of) tracking by Son Part title or tracking by Song Part index could serve.

If your songs and song parts match exactly between instances, then you can use the built-in option under Options > OSC > Sync

I appreciate the demo - that’s what I thought should happen.

Unf. it is not happening here!

I suppose something does not match exactly, though I have yet to find the mismatch.

Even when I just create two new default Songs (on each side) and give them the titles ‘Test 01’ and ‘Test 02’ the Song parts, which are all defaulted to Intro, Verse Chorus by the system do not track. The Songs track, but not the Song Parts.

You can also use a Global rackspace script to accomplish this:

On Song(oldSongIndex : integer, newSongIndex : integer)
    SendOSCMessage {/SelectSongByIndex, newSongIndex } to "127.0.0.1" : 9003
End

On Songpart(oldSongpartIndex : integer, newSongpartIndex : integer)
    SendOSCMessage {/SelectSongPart, newSongpartIndex } to "127.0.0.1" : 9003
End
