[Solved]Soundpaint 3.6 error loading sounds

Strange error with DoundPaint 3.6 VST3 inside GP. Plugin loads UI but as soon as i try to load a sound a generic “ERROR UPGRADING PROGRAM” is generated.
No issues with standalone application.

Someone experienced similar issues?

thank’s

Thanks for the report. I am trying to put off the update in case there are problems. It looks like you hit one.
Have you reported it to SP developers (Discord?). Maybe some of the GP support team can try it out in GP.

Jeff

That error is certainly not coming from GP

FWIW: I put this query into Google and AI had some suggestions:

Soundpaint ERROR UPGRADING PROGRAM

Please keep us updated.

There is a new version 4.3 available.
Can you test with that?

@pianopaul yep updated to 4.3 also but nothing changed

Yep, the error message was coming from the SP VST3, not from GP, and it was related to a bad SP temporary download folder link (old disk no longer present).
Luckily, in GP I could see the error (it wasn’t shown in the standalone app) :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, Jeff, for the Google AI tip (I hadn’t noticed it on the collapsed mobile tab)… I solved it by manually deleting all cached references to the SP sound library folder (both files and registry entries).

After that, I launched a “Full Rescan” inside SP. Then the SP sound library downloader/installer let me choose the destination folder again and started the installation process.

All solved.
