Settings or possibilities Focusrite Scarlett solo 4th

I now am using a, as a keyboardplayer, cheap audio interface Behringer UFO202. On the “line in” I connect my tablet with Bandhelper and the songs without the synths, for practicing at home. I don’t have to use the “line in” when playing live.
I now bought a much better Focusrite Scarlet solo 4th gen. But I can’t seem to use the “line in” on that interface to hear the tablet through the headphones to practice like I’m used to do. Any ideas??

Are you using a headphone-out on the tablet and an adapter to connect to the line in? Have you used the “Focusrite Control” software to review the routings?

Would be my first question too: do you use the Focusrite Control Software?

I use a adapter from 6,35 jack (?) to 3,5 jack in the focusrite, and I plug a 2 times male 3,5 jack cable to connect them.
Yes I use the focusrite FC2 software. I get some sound from the tablet but very soft and distorded.

No one with the golden tip?

Line Level input is for devices with pre-amplifiers. You might need to get some kind of DI (Direct Injection) box to amplify the signal coming from the tablet.

Alternately if you are not using the XLR input, you might be able to get a TRS to XLR adapter and plug your tablet in there as XLR inputs are generally microphone/instrument levels which have pre-amplifiers. If you do this, you would need the 48v switch off on your Focusrite.

Ultimately you should just have something that can take instrument level input. If you bought your Focusrite new, them maybe you can return it for something else.

@SteveC-Bome thank you for this helpful explanation. Yes its’s new so I might reconsider returning it or try your XLR-alternative first. Something to think about. At least now I know the limitations of the audio interface I chose.
