Setlist with Audio Streaming

I have a fairly basic use case as follows:

  1. I have created a setlist for a duo I play with of approx 100 songs.
  2. I have started to create a series of rackspaces, and some with variations
  3. I have loaded in backing ytrck .wav files for most of the songs, into the Audio Streamer, that is sitting in a Global Rackspace.
    4.I have been able to drop markers in a backing gtrack, and it will select rackspaces, and variations, but only if I stay within the one rackspace.

How do I use setlist mode AND be able to link to backing tracks, AND when I change from song parts in SetList mode, eg INTRO, VERSE, CHORUS, BRIDGE ETC, it will line up with the backing track part? I have been able to drop markets in my backing track, and Loop popints, and created a widget in my Global Reackpace to control the backing track. see below:

I will try to help.

As an initial point, to me song part changes are based on when I need to change sounds during different points in the song (if you use enough splits, maybe you never need to use different song parts). There is no reason, as far as I am concerned, that song parts must follow “intro, verse, etc.” unless that is when you need to change rackspaces or variations (which may often be the case).

I am not sure if this really answers your full question, but I think each song part you change to would need to connect to a rackspace variation that includes everything you need for that part of the song.

So, the rackspace would need to connect to the Global Rackspace for the backing track and have all the variations you are using for that part of the song.

You can only use one rackspace variation at a time unless you use multiple instances of Gig Performer (as I understand it). (I have not tried that.)

I have figured a solution.

I have put markers in my backing track, then added an Action, (in Audio Streamer) that selects a SONG and SONG PART based on the backing track marker.

Then I have linked rack spaces or rack space variations to the Setlist Song Part, ie Intro, Verse, Chorus etc, and all working

Agree that 80% of songs can be covered with minimal patch (backspace) changes, and I am now working through each backing track, just dropping markers where I need to select a new Song Part in Setlist that then selects a different sound , ie rackspace or variation.

My last part is to have my Song in Setlist send a Prigram Change to my iPad from my MacBook to call up lyrics/chart in OnSong.

If I use this setup, then my order for backing track songs is

Pick song from audio streamer
Play the song, incl loop points for extending solos
Setlist pulls up correct song

(From here, process same with or without a backing track)

Setlist song sends program change to iPad, calls up matching lyrics, chart
As song track plays, intro, verse, chorus gets selected in setlist song parts
Song parts select rackspaces

Getting there, and everything close to working.

For songs without backing tracks, Setlist can do everything with or without backing tracks

Anything else I should consider?
