Sending CC commands from Ableton Live to Gig Performer

@pianopaul Is it possible to send CC commands from Ableton to GigPerformer—for example, to trigger scenes on a keyboard (MODX M7)?
How would I go about doing that?
I don’t have much experience with Ableton yet.
Thanks a lot for your help!

In Ableton Live you can send CC messages from a clip, that is easy

Here an example
When the clip is started the MIDI Message CC 29 with value 74 is sent to the virtual MIDI device IAC

@pianopaul Is it possible to send different CC values (with varying data values) within a single song or clip?

Currently, I’m handling this using the Streaming Audio Player, which works well, but it ends up bloating the Gig file since I have to set up multiple players for each song.

You can send different values over time, that is possible.
Just draw a line.

“Just draw a line”

Was ist damit gemeint?

No idea, if M4L can be used with Ableton Standard.

Most of your questions are Ableton-related, not Gig Performer related.

GP can absolutely respond to MIDI messages via a virtual MIDI port and also via OSC but if you’re asking how to generate such messages, it might be worth asking those questions on the Ableton forums as well.

@pianopaul

I’ve set up a song with backing tracks and a MIDI track for scene changes, and it’s working perfectly so far.

Thanks again for your help.
