Send PC and BC to Sequential Rev2 via Ableton

Hello guys, I’m trying to send program changes and bank changes via Ableton to my Sequential Rev2.
I’ve hear the easiest way to do this in Ableton would be to set up a dummy clip that fires the data on the correct MIDI channel.
Problem : it seems that sometimes the program changes are not recorded, from time to time, I end up with no program changes recorded (whereas I did save with them), sometimes it works !
Do you know another wayto trigger these ?
I want to control the Minilogue and it works with it apparently without hiccups.

Thank you

Did you try that?

Yes ! :slight_smile: Thank you anyway :slight_smile:

What about creating an actual MIDI file, WITH the Program change?

This could be useful as you can draw automation curves in a clip.
This way you only need 1 clip to send pc messages at every bar:
beat you need.

I’m not sure what you mean :slight_smile:

Here’s are some PC MIDI clips, all channel 1. PC0 to 30.zip (3.8 KB) You can use these to fire the appropriate PC changes.
You can create your own ( I used REAPER) with different bank and channel information.

THAT is what I was referring to !!

Yes I know this technique, which work flawlessly with my Minilogue but sometimes it doesn’t work with my prophet Rev2.

Thank you for your help :slight_smile:
(I asked the question on other forums too, if I have a good solution I’ll say it here too).

By the way: Did you do that?

In the Rev2’s Global settings:

    set “MIDI Channel” to the desired value (beware Multi Mode, where different channels can be set);

    set “MIDI Program Enable” to “On”;

Hum it’s interesting, I had indeed Multimode ON, maybe that is the problem.
I’ll check.

Here’s what the manual says about Multimode on the Rev2.

Thank you I hope this can solve problems :wink:

At least this would explain why it is sometimes working :wink:
