Hye everyone,
I am new on here (this is my first post), so thank you for any replies / advice.
When I attempt to select a plugin to load, I often can’t as the info on the screen is not displaying correctly so that when I move my mouse cursor over to select the specific plugin, the choices displayed disappear.
When I do load a plugin, it is not displaying the whole plugin (part of it is missing).
I do not have any of these issues when I use these VSTs in my DAW.
I do have three screens (inclucing the laptop screen) attached to my laptop. Whether I open GP in my main (large) screen, or the laptop screen, I sill have the same issues with selecting various plugins.
Hey there,
It seems to happen with them all - when I add a new plugin, it appears above GP on whatever screen that I have put GP in. If I then move it to another screen, the dimensions change in that it doesn’t resize, it just cuts off part of the plugin. They are VST3s.
Hi there,
Unfortunately, with some of the plugins, because part of the plugin is cut off, I can’t get to settings, not can I grab the edge (which I would normally do) to resize the plugin.
Hey there,
Absolutely: I know that there are other plugins (dozens) that I can’t even see that do not appear in my list since, if I place my mouse pointer to the very right of the list (in the photo that you have copied into your message) - just inside the display box - I can see more (though I don’t know what they are, it is just that there options come up!
Hey there,
I have three screens that all have different resolutions: it seems to be hit & miss as to whether a plugin displays correctly or not: sometimes it will on one display, but not on another and it will not always do the same thing if I move it around on different screens. For example, it might not be right on screen one, but is right on screen two. I then move it back to screen one & it doesn’t go back to being the right size as it was at first.
Does the issue go away if only one screen is connected? (I would try different settings if you initially continue to have the same issue with only one screen connected).
[Disclaimer: I’m no computer expert, but this is something I would probably try to check whether the issue is related to the use of multiple screens].
Thank you - I will have a ‘fiddl’e with the screen settings (perhaps having all three screens set to the same reolution - for example - might cure the problem (even though this is a pain that I have to do it just to use this one app (Gig Performer) as I don’t for any of the dozens of other apps that I use)).
Hey again everyone,
Just thought that I wopuld give you an update. In the end, what I had to do was make my largest screen the default (in Windows 11). Then, when GP loads up, all of thge plugins (along with me being able to select all of them) appear as they should. Unfortunately, if I move the plugins to other display areas, they start being funny again and not showing the whole pluin surface area (so certain parts of the plugin are not displaying on the screen). I am guyessing that this all has something to do with the fatc that when starting, GP picks up Windows display settings for it’s current location (within the total screen space) and doesn’t have the capability (as yet) to correctly resize if one is using more than one display (of a different resolution).
So, it is still not perfect (as I can’t maximise my screen space by putting pluins on other screens), but the woraround at least allows me to do what I want to.
When I set them all to the same scale, I can move the plugins to all of the screens. Unfortunately, when I set them all to 100% the text on my laptop screen is just too small. Also, unfortunate is that all three screens have a different ‘recommended’ scale, so whichever one I try (so, keeping them all the same) one (or two) of the screens is not optimal.
Having said this, it doesn’t take long to do this, so if I am spending a good chunk of time working in GP, I can chage it & then change it back again.
Hey Dadi,
I’ve settled on having them all on 125% (and adjusting some of the resolutions (I want to keep my main monitor set for 4K) - this seems to be working OK.
I will say that this is a shortcoming of GP that it doesn’t pick up the various different display settings when plugins are brought onto a different screen (this has never happened in my DAW for example).
I use two large monitors on Windows 11 and don’t have any issues. Plugins or other windows are on the second screen. I can move them around without any issues.
My graphics chip is nVIDIA. Is your graphic chip AMD?
Probably also worth noting that, as a live performance host, multiple large screens with 4k resolution on stage using GP would be a very rare occurrence.
