Hi, first, I’m sorry this subject has already been treated but I’m in a middle of a stress: first performance with gig performer in 2 days!!
My foot controller is connected in midi DIN to my RME fireface UC, and after some random time, my pedal looses the connection. audio never deconnect. I don’t think it’s a problem of sleeping usb. I’ve followed all the official gp recommandations about it. Unfortunately, I’m testing this new RME since 2 week only and i’m facing this issue just now that GP stays open 8h a day…
Can you help me pleeaaase
Is it only the pedal that looses the connection?
Can you test with a keyboard if note messages also get lost?
When the pedal messages are lost, is the MIDI Port still available in Gig Performer?
Which model do you own?
What does that exactly mean. I have got an RME UCX and I never lost an RME MIDI Port. That’s what happens to you?
If it is that tour MIDI controller gets unresponsive, it could simply be an issue of your MIDI controller…
yes, only the pedal. with usb, I have a midi wind controller who never loose connexion
yes and an untick and tick again once solved the issue
Can you please try with another cable?
my foot pedal is a Voes mx12. When the issue happens, the RME LED corresonding to the midi 1 IN lights on when I press a switch
What can be seen in the global MIDI monitor window when this issue happens?
I did’t test but I will. the problem is that it happenned only 3 times since I’ve bought the RME. Thanks a lot for your help
Yes, but keep this test in mind if it happens again. This is very strange because I am not aware of MIDI ports reliability issues with a RME device. The only issue I had with my RME audio interface was due to a third party bad USB cable.
Which audio interface model is it?
It’s a second hand RME Fireface UC from 2020.
No issue today after 10 hours of switched on computer and audio interface. I’ll restart the computer just before the show because it rather happenned after inactivity for the moment.
While I still suspect on the cable, note that various scheduled items run when a computer is idle (i.e. no activity). I’d also review these items and reconfigure them.
Ok, thanks, I’ll check that before the next show. Anyway, This issue didn’t happened during the gig of Saturday, thanks to all the community for this support. It was reassuring !
