Hi, currently one of my midi devices being used is a Juno DS88. For whatever reason, depending on which usb port my controller is plugged into, the controller will either show up as “Juno DS” or “2-Juno DS,” and gig performer recognizes these as 2 separate midi controllers even though I only have the one Juno. Rig manager made it a quick fix to simply reassign either of these “separate” controllers to the correct midi blocks under a single midi alias.
However, I have certain widgets routed to the sus pedal on my Juno, and for whatever reason, the widget assignments never change their assignment correctly. As such, each time the port changes, I’m having to go through and manually reassign each widget to the “new” midi device. Any idea what I’m doing wrong here? I’m pretty confident this is user error since from what I can tell other users haven’t experienced this problem. Thanks in advance!
Plug in Juno DS to USB port 1
Gig performer recognizes midi device as “Juno DS 88”
Assign midi blocks to juno ds 88
assign widgets to juno ds 88
go to rig manager - choose alias for juno ds 88 called “juno ds”
shut down computer
remove Juno DS from USB port 1 and plug Juno into USB port 2
start computer, start gig performer
GP recognizes midi device as “2-Juno DS 88”
open rig manager, assign 2-Juno DS 88" to previously made alias “juno ds”
midi blocks are correctly reassigned
widgets are still assigned to “Juno DS 88” and don’t respond until I reassign them to the “new” midi device.
I’m assuming it’s not a software error but something wrong with the way i’m using rig manager? Kind of at a loss on this one.
