Rig manager help please

Here is my goal.
I want to be able to take my laptop, Studiologic Mixface, and my audio interface on an airplane. Then go to Guitar Center or wherever & rent an 88 keyboard and control all my sounds & rackspaces with my Mixface controller. Trying to follow the Youtube videos to set up buttons, knobs, & sliders. When I go to the learn midi part, my SL Mixface is not being learned. Rig Manager is only learning midi when I move something on my keyboard controller.
How can I change this so the learn midi function sees my Mixface controller.
Thanks in advance

can you go to GP preferences > Midi ports, and make sure that your Mixface shows up in there?
You might need to enable it with the checkboxes.

It’s enabled in both inputs and outputs.
Thank you!

one more question - if you open the global midi monitor - do you see messages coming from mixface when you press buttons or move knobs/faders?
did you create widgets and are trying to midi learn those widgets?

Thanks Piano.
I have no idea what I did. But now the theaters, buttons and knobs are controlling my widgets. Thank you.

that works and it’s great - but you should try to be aware of what you did - so that you can fix it in the future.
please try to always understand what the behavior is, so that you won’t encounter such a thing at a gig.
GP does not typically have problems recognizing midi ports/devices or receiving midi data.
my guess is that you were playing with rig manager, which somehow deactivated your controller from your selected setup.
there is a video from @BPontecorvo that shows/explains how to use the rig manager.

Thanks again. I did watch that video and followed it. The only variable I can think of was I opened up my B3 rack space with my panel showing the drawbars
