Resampling and getting proper sound patches

While stumbling through the new features of 4.7 I also could not resist to give the Auto Sampler a try :innocent: Also the Decent Sampler was new to me.

Great tool for catching stacked vsts, or - in my case - sampling old hardware - within GP.

And then I struggled:

While trying to resample one of my Kurzweil String layers I had to learn that looping needs to be done externally. So pain #1: find the right tools to map the samples and work at the loopings.
As I am already using Tx16WX for some one-shot samples I tried it first here. Hm, creating the map takes quite a long time. Next tool…
I used the great Endless WAV in the past to create loops for my Kurzweil Forte SE. Björn Bojahr also provides a mapper tool which exports .dspresets (!).
But also quite complicated .
So one step back to Tx16WX and trying to use the internal resampler. However I found this quite unreliable (sometimes there was no audio in shown on the level meter/empty recordings, sometimes no MIDI out generation, sometimes it was quite working what you expect).
Finally I went back to Logic Pro to give the internal AutoSampler/Sampler combination a try. This was quite good. Also exporting EXS to import in Decent Sampler worked quite well. However, crossfades for the loops are behaving slightly different. Envelopes are not transferred etc.
So, finally I imported the AutoSampler/Sampler results in the AUSampler in GP. Which is quite OK.

Everything is still quite work intense, I think there is some more potential or combination of tools possible to get the job done more efficiently!

So, finally a question: what are you guys using to “post-process” your (re-)sampled waves? How does your workflows look like?

PS: I really like the approach of Decent Sampler. However currently editing the .dspreset files is quite time consuming. Also, as I could figure out Decent is currently not supporting one-shot samples?!

PPS: What about Sample Robot / Kontakt. I also ran through How To Resample Synths To Save Computer Resources which also showed up with some limitations. Any new thoghts on this
