I finally decided to try my hand at a DAW that can accommodate Relayer.
Since you cannot run multiple programs using ASIO at the same time in Windows - does anyone have any tips and/or settings on how setup the drivers to have Cakewalk record audio from GP via Relayer?
I have the “Relayer to Relayer” send and receive thing. It’s ASIO to WDM that I cannot get to communicate.
I have found that to be the case with my WIN11 machine which is dedicated to Gig Performer. But, my WIN10 backup machine allows multiple apps to use access audio output simultaneously. Since I never cared about simultaneous use on my primary, I never investigated. Could this be a driver limitation rather than a Windows limitation?
As mentioned @ztones, this is not exact. It depends from the ASIO driver. RME has very good multi-client ASIO drivers and some other brands too. However, if your audio interface doesn’t have a multi-client ASIO driver, you can have a look here:
To be precise: It’s not Windows, but the asio driver of the audio interface that may or may not handle several asio applications at the same time. For more details, see the previous links.
