Recording MIDI sequences within GP

Is there a way to record/edit a midi file for playback from within GP (without using the “record MIDI Input” function)? I have to shut down GP and load a DAW to edit/loop a simple 2 or 4 bar sequence…

He’s probably on Windows and not using a multi-client MIDI driver.

On Windows you could use TXL20 midirouter together with loopMIDI. Midirouter makes it possible to send a MIDI in port to multiple MIDI out ports.

This is for Windows users. Sometimes you need to send MIDI messages to more than one application at a time at once. However, most MIDI drivers on Windows don’t allow you to open one MIDI port multiple times. So you have to toil around in both applications turning on and off a particular MIDI input.
