Random Beach Balls Upon Opening GP

Hi all -

I love GigPerformer, but I’d really appreciate some help.

Whenever I use the program, a majority of the time I go to open a gig file (doesn’t seem to matter which one), the file opens up to the point where I see all my RackSpaces listed… but I can’t select any of them. I get the spinning beach ball of death, and have to force quit the program. Then I try again. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Usually by the 3rd time, the file (same one I had to force quit) opens up and works just fine.

It’s not crashing, persay. Just stalling forever. And then it randomly works the 2nd or 3rd time. This hasn’t stopped me from using the program at gigs. But it’s so annoying. I’d love to figure out why this happens and just know that it will always open up correctly the first time… if there’s a way to download the crash report when it isn’t actually crashing all the way, let me know how and I’ll share it.

I’m using GigPerformer 5.0.28. Upgraded recently. On an Intel based Mac from 2019, an 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. Current system is Ventura 13.6.3.

I don’t use too many crazy plug-ins. Mostly, Spectrasonics stuff, Keyscape and Omnisphere. Sometimes some of the Arturia stuff. And IK Multimedia Hammond B3-X. Don’t tend to use a lot of external effects at all.

Any input or feedback here would be super appreciated. Thanks so much.

To me this looks like a plugin issue.
Can you try opening the built-in templates and try to reproduce the issue?

How much memory do you have? Have Activity Monitor open beside GP and watch if you use all available memory as GP starts loading the rackspaces.
