Rack panel editing: does one tweak change them all?

I know the answer is nearby, so sorry -long day.

Here’s the layup question of the night: if I tweak a rack panel in setlist A, do those edits also apply to the same rack panel in setlists B, C D and so on for all other instances of that panel?

I believe the answer is yes, but just conforming.

Thanks!

Depends - while there’s only one real instance of the rackspace, if you change a widget value when you are in setlist view, you are NOT changing the underlying value of the widget in the rackspace unless you take a snapshot and then PUSH the snapshot back to the rackspace

Ok, thanks I’m following. For clarity, the changes I’m making to panels is being done on the wiring view, mostly level changes in mixers inside that view. (I hear something in setlist, then flip to wiring, fiddle with mix or maybe a sound parameter, then flip back to setlist & save.)

Is that still changing widgets in setlist mode as you describe - or in that case, am I then editing the rack space and would other setlist instances of that panel/song housed in the same gig file follow?

Sorry if it seems that I’m asking the same question twice, just want to be sure I’ve got clarity in the event I need to change the way I’m doing this.

Thank you!

By doing that you are changing the widget settings in that variation. So, if you use that variation in another song, the change should apply (unless you check off ignore variations?)

But, the thing that complicates things is you can also save changes in a variation to a songpart. This is sometimes referred to as a “snapshot”.

So, if you saved variation settings to a songpart, later changes to that variation should not affect that song part.

I hope that’s right. That’s how I understand it.
