If I want to “fade” between songs (in my case, instrumental electronica/ambient) or at least have one song fading out when next song starts, is there a way to do this inside a single instance of GP? And, if there is, how does this cope with “DAW tempo locked” plugins when the tempo of the fading song is different from the new song?
I suspect the answer for this is to run multiple instances of GP and “alternate” the songs between them, but I was wondering if this might be possible inside one instance.
What means fade?
Crossfade or just lower volume and then raise volume?
Fade for all audio or just audio player tracks?
By song you mean Rackspace?
Take a look at the Output Fading property in the rackspace properties.
It would be mainly lowering volume but also making sure tempo and time signature, which might have changed during the track, stuck at the “ending” tempo/time signature even if the next track was at a different one.
The fade would be for all audio - but thinking primarily of audio player PLUS instrument plugins (that are tempo sync’d)
No, I am thinking of two songs, or specifically, two Song Parts (one from each Song). For example:
- Song Song 1 with Fade Part Ending (92bpm 4/4) is running/fading over time
- Song Song 2 Part Intro (120bpm 3/4) starts around half-way through the fade
From what I can see there is no way to have this in one instance. Am I missing something, or is that the only approach?
When you use different rackspaces for song parts you can use the fade out feature.
