Pointer-cc: a plugin to replace the mouse with MIDI controllers

I don’t know if this will be useful for anyone but I found the idea interesting for controlling a plugin when you have a screen but no mouse to hand.

This plugin replaces the mouse with 4 MIDI controllers.

It is still under development and may contain bugs.
Demonstration video on the developer’s page.

Looks very creative e.g. marking-up a screenshot of the plugin UI with a particular color to indicate where the controls are.

But it’s quite a lot of setup.

Interesting concept. Available for macOS and Windows:

Potentially more useful with an X-Y pad style controller. I think I have an old Korg nanopad somewhere that might be cool to make it act like a tiny trackpad. Then again, cool as it is I’m struggling to imagine a practical live use of this in my current setup. If anyone has cool ideas I’d love to hear… it’s innovative!

You’re right, and in the description of a controller you can see this illustration:

However, while the video shows how easy it is to use, the configuration of a plugin to control seems very heavy, as @rank13 said.
What’s more, you have to repeat the configuration separately for each plugin.
