Pod Farm 2.5 issue on a desktop computer

Hi Everyone,

Trying to load Pod Farm 2.5 (a ten year old vst) using the Blue Cat Patchwork VST wrapper in Gig Performer. Gig Performer crashes instantly each time. A better solution would be to be able to load Pod Farm directly but scanning fails each time I’ve tried.

Does anyone know how to get Patchwork to work in Gig Performer with Pod Farm (it works plugins that are scannable with Gig Performer) or is there a better (perhaps free?) VST wrapper I could use that doesn’t crash? The Patchwork standalone loads Pod Farm just fine.

You could try Nembrini Nexus, but you’ll most likely run into the same crash.
It has a demo so you can try it without buying it first.
There’s also DDMF Metaplugin which you can get discounted from using GP.

  1. What platform are you running?

  2. Is there a crash report?

  3. What is Pod Farm?

  4. Why can’t you load it directly into GP? If it’s 32-bit, all bets are off - we don’t (and won’t) support any wrappers that try to make 32-bit plugins work.

POD Farm has both 64-bit and 32-bit versions so no wrapper is required.

They are installed in the same directory:

Thank you! I did discover that Metaplugin works. But it looks like Pod Farm 64 bit should work without a wrapper so I’ll keep trying to get it to work.

That certainly looks promising! Not sure why my Gig Performer wasn’t loading the 64 bit version. I’ll have to try it again

I don’t recall if you need to select 64-bit during install, if so you may need to re-run the installer to get the 64-bit loaded.

  1. You might want to remove the 32-bit version if it’s in the same folder

  2. If the 64-bit version shows up as “failed” in the plugin manager, delete it from the plugin manager list and rescan

Yeah the 64 bit versions were failing. I tried removing them from the failed list and rescanning but they come up as failed again.

Not sure how it worked for you but the 64 bit versions are failing for me.

Thank you for your response! I’ve moved on from the Blue Cat Patchwork plug-in since the Metaplugin works in Gig Performer as a wrapper for Pod Farm. I’m on Windows 11. Pod Farm 2.5 is a Line 6 amp modeler that got discontinued in 2015. I just realized it has one particular sound that I can’t get with Helix, UA or Bias FX 2, much as I’ve tried, so I’m trying to incorporate Pod Farm with Gig Performer.

Don’t know, I’ve used it in GP since version 3 and on a variety of different processors and audio interfaces with never a problem. Both windows 10 and 11. I have other packages like Tone-X, TH-U, but always end up using old trusty Pod Farm.

Even got Line 6 to increase the max hardware installs because I used it on so many machines since 2008.

Ok, turns out it’s an issue only with my desktop. I just tried it with my laptop and it loaded just fine in Gig Performer. I didn’t try it initially with the laptop because today the Line 6 License Manager claimed my laptop was not authorized (even though it had been for the past several months) and that meant I had reached my max lifetime devices. So I have to call Line 6 tomorrow and get those lifetimes reset.

But that still seems odd that my desktop doesn’t load the 64 bit version.

My bet goes that some dependent system libraries (runtime, etc.) are the culprit.
You should contact the support of the plugin developer.

I’ll try a fresh install tomorrow. The Metaplugin could only scan the 32 bit version on the desktop but it was able to scan the 64 bit version on the laptop. So it’s not just Got Performer.

Is your desktop older or newer? Sometimes some older runtime DLLs from Microsoft need to be installed.
