I have Gig Performer installed on 2 computers - an iMac and a MacBook Pro. I’ve been working on various “gig” files on both machines. Today for some reason, many of the plugins available on the iMac disappeared. One of them for example, Blue3 is part of several rackspaces. It continues to function properly in each backspace. But, when I want to add a plugin, GG Audio no longer shows up. Similarly other manufacturers also no longer show up in the dropdown list. Also, within the Native Instruments folder, I can no longer see Kontakt 5, or Superior Drummer 3 from Toontrack. In the Waves folder almost all plugins are now missing.
I tried deactivating Gig Performer on the iMac, uninstalled and reinstalled it. It went through the process of rescanning all plugins, but again none of the missing plugins returned.
The MacBook Pro continues to work perfectly.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Paul
Paul,
Did you run Clean My Mac 3 after the last update to GigPerformer? If you did, I saw the same issue on my MacBook too! I updated GP and was prompted to remove the GP install file upon completion as an option. Big mistake on my part. The culprit was Clean My Mac 3. I had to load a backup of my rack space, let GigPerformer rescan the plugins (there are a few hundred), and was then able to rock on!
Hope this helps…
Marc
Thanks for the reply Marc. I have only had the current version of Gig Performer. Everything worked fine on the iMac and then suddenly a bunch of plugins just no longer appeared. I did use AppCleaner to uninstall GP and then reinstalled it. After reinstalling it the plugins were again scanned but the missing plugins were still missing.
But now for the good news. After putting in a support ticket I received a call from David Jameson who was able to rescan the plugins again (not sure what exactly was different here than the initial rescan) and sure enough all of the missing plugins reappeared and are working perfectly. This company has to have the best support of any I have ever dealt with.
I’m loving Gig Performer and the incredibly efficient way it handles memory intensive plugins. And now, with this kind of support, I’m sure I spent my money wisely.
