I’m not certain if what I’m trying to accomplish is better done with a plugin or a script, but I know very little about both subjects and could use some advice.
Here’s a snippet of some music I’m playing (screenshot below).
I’m being asked to play two keyboard books at the same time for this show. The other book (the one I’m primarily reading) has the same quarter notes in a string voice without the 5-tuplets above.
I’d like to simplify my part to only require playing the quarter notes as written in the string part, but triggering the arpeggiated piano notes above. Ideally, whatever plugin or script is required would allow me to input a tempo that I can modify later once we start rehearsing. I believe that “close enough” will work on the tempo - if the piano goes a little too fast, it’s not a big deal. Just don’t want it slower than the performance tempo.
I believe this would likely be 7 unique instances of the same plugin/script, one for each note trigger (low Ab, Cb, Db, Eb, F, G, and high Ab) with 4 individual notes programmed to follow in rapid sequence. (Or a single plugin like the native Midi Chord Maker that allows you to build a different chord for any key…Or some combination like a plugin that will read arpeggiate chords from the Midi Chord Maker?)
I’ve searched a little for how to write a script to trigger a series of notes and have come up empty handed - if someone could give me a pointer on how to get started with that, I’d appreciate it.
I also looked at the BlueArp plugin and couldn’t make much sense of it. I couldn’t figure out how to get it to only play 5 notes without looping.
