Plugin Management <-> Performance

Hi and sorry if this has been asked before (I searched and couldn’t find this question).

Does a longer list of active plugins impact performance on your system or does it only use up disk space?

In other words can I optimize my GigPerformer performance if I reduce
a) the list of plugins activated in GigPerformer PluginManager?
b) the number of components in my PluginsFolder (Mac/Library)
c) doesn’t matter as long as I am not actually using the plugins in my Rackspace?

Many thanks!

The list of plugins has no impact on performance playing live.

All this years, always adding more ;-), I don’t see an impact on performance.

I do have a dir for Components (Disabled) and VST (Disabled) for retired/expired/demo/maybe not needed plugins .

It’s scary to see how many plugins some users have (including me)

I am scared about the number of plugins I bought, with regard to the number of plugins I still have to test or use more seriously :kissing_smiling_eyes:

yeah Black Friday surely didn’t help!

Amazing, I did not realized that I had so many: 876 :astonished:
But 864 being freeware…

Jäger und Sammler :wink:

Wow. That takes a long time to count, hardly have that much (will do a list)
Talking of lists, I got curious to what is the plugin with higher number of “exposed” parameters?

Omnisphere has the most parameters I saw until now.

Not complete …

Cypher=1183
CS-80 V3=1019
CMI V=1608

Well - I think I know the definitive winner…

TH3 = 16825

yes - that’s 16 thousand… not a typo.

Wow — why so many?

They improved things in the new TH-U plugin (I remember writing to them about this, but have no idea if it helped or not).

They had parameters for each of the pedals, amps, effects all of them crammed into this one monolithic list.

TH-U now exposes 400 Parameters
