Hello. I have 2 of all waves plugins in my list and only one of each works. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled waves but I cant get the gp list to update.
Are they duplicated in your plugin manager? And if so, do they have the same version numbers?
Are you on Mac or Windows?
You could also check if they probably exist at different install paths…
You can locate them from within the plugin finder.
If you look at both columns, to me it looks like the “duplicates” are not exactly the same.
In your OS, open the folder that contains your VST3s.
Find the WaveShell-VST3 files and look at which ones were modified most recently.
Move the older WaveShell-VST3 files out of the VST3 folder.
Rescan plugins inside GP.
Does this look like the prob?
Try removing the ones labeled 16.0 and ARA-16.7_x64 from that folder, then rescan inside GP.
You can also just remove them all from the folder, rescan inside GP(to remove the references), and then reinstall Waves.
I have Waves and experienced the same identical problem. As @edm11 has posted, it is because you have older versions of Waves in the scanned folder(s). Waves updates don’t remove the older versions in my experience, it would be nice if they did but I suppose there might be a reason for that. Anyway, just remove old versions and rescan as @edm11 has shown.
Thanks I will try when I get get back to it. Been having the same problems with presonus after the studio one update. And now when I open one of the presonus synths it opens to a tiny square that I cant open. Lol its been struggle city today. Im gonna reinstall and hope it helps.
I didn’t have to reinstall, I just looked at the version numbers and deleted those, then rescanned. Sometimes dead shortcuts can cause problems too and those should also be deleted if present. If all else fails you could delete everything and reinstall, but sooner or later when new versions of Waves come out the problem/symptom will repeat. So you might as well figure it out this time so you can do it again in the future.
