Patch selection

I’m putting a rig together for live looping. This is what I’m thinking so far in terms of structure:

For vocals I just need a few presets, but for the keyboard I’d like to be able to flick through dozens easily. Ideally this would be a long list on an iPad, or a ‘big text list’ on the MacBook. My aim is to have loads of grouped presets to add some wild serendipity to the set.

So a few questions:

  1. How are ya’ll switching patches??
  2. Can I pass a list of current Rackspaces to an iPad, e.g. via Lemur? (ideal scenario)
  3. If not, is there a ‘big text’ view of Rackspaces I can scroll through on the MacBook for quick selection on stage?
  4. If not that … how are you selecting patches? Do any of you handle large libraries of them? (I’m thinking maybe I could find a keyboard or MIDI controller with a 0-127 knob and a button that ‘sends’ this as a program change.

Current keyboard is a little Arturia key step 37, but I’m thinking of getting something bigger (could this help with patch selection??)

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Did you try the GP template for Lemur?

Nope not yet. Found an old video of it, but it doesn’t seem to have patch selection. Has this changed?

As I know you get a list of rackspaces you can choose from and also setlist view is supported

Ahhh OK I must have found an old video. Will explore further…

Some blog entries

The Lemur template does this for songs and set lists….that’s the way you should go

Very cool. Will try this out. Thanks all!
