Hey all, three days ago I upgraded my MacBook to Tahoe from Sequoia. I usually wait until just before the next OSX comes out before upgrading so most of the time I run N-1 on my OS. I also upgraded GP to 5.2.2. I’m hitting anomalyous behavior with GP and OSC. Using the TouchOSC interface I built I can see if I start the interface it makes the OSC request to GP for the /SetList/GetSongList, GigPerformer/ListAllRackSpaces and /GigPerform/GetSetLists. If I run Protokol on my newly updated MacBook instead of GP, I see the messages come in. If I set OSC on GP to send out to an unused port on 127.0.0.1 and watch that port with Protokol, I see GP’s OSC response, but when I try to point the target for GP back to touch OSC on the iPad, or a 3rd Mac I have running MonitorOSC. I see no response message from GP. I can confirm this by running tcpdump on my MacBook that GP runs on and monitor for any outbound UDP messages on the target port to anywhere other than loopback. No messages go out.
I have tried all the usual stuff, like changing the OSC settings in GP and toggling the “Enable OSC” switch, or even restarting GP and the whole MacBook after changing the settings and nothing works. I’ve tried connecting a direct network cable between the MacBook and the iPad to hard wire them together. I have VPN disabled, IP Tracking block disabled and have confirmed all the interfaces I’m monitoring are correct. GP shows the correct IP in the “Gig Performer IP address” box in the OSC settings.
IDK what else to try or could be the cause at this point. If I create an OSC message to anywhere from TouchOSC, the monitoring machines receive the messages, but for some reason it seems GP isn’t sending OSC responses out of any network interface, wired or wireless, except on the loopback.
I Time Machined my Mac before the upgrade and I have gigs Fri and Sat this week. I can roll back but I’ve got a couple of days to muck with this so if it is something I could diagnose and fix or provide more diagnostic feedback, I’m happy to do so but Wed. night I’ll have to roll it all back for my gigs.
Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jim
