I know you can drag the Song Lyrics/ Chord Editor Page so you can make the page larger but it would be handy if you could just enlarge the page so it could take up the whole screen which would make reading PDF music files easier when using an IPad Pro as a monitor.
Yes, it’s currently a utility-type window, so it doesn’t get the standard window buttons to maximise or make full screen. That would be useful.
It would be useful definitely Imho. Hopefully they consider that in a future update
Yes…and to be able to control the window size with widgets.
That too would be helpful
We consider almost everything for future updates
Just guessing but probably not a bunch of GP users are reading PDF music files in GP using an IPad Pro so I would understand that it may not be a high priority feature
That’s a good question – personally I use an iPad Pro on stage but my sheet music is on the iPad, not in Gig Performer. When I switch songs on the iPad, Gig Performer will switch appropriately.
I use an iPad Pro to view everything coming from a Mac Mini. So the ability to quickly switch from 1/3 page to full page (lyrics) would be very useful.
Having 2 IPads onstage with 1 acting as a monitor and the other for pdf sheet music would be ultimately the way to go. If you’re using GP for a solo piano gig and are just playing a piano sound using an IPad Pro for your monitor then having the PDF song taking up most of the screen real estate is no big deal in that scenario. Obviously if you were playing in a group typically using different sounds you would need 2 displays or a least an iPad Pro and an old fashioned binder with your charts
An IPad Pro is much easier to use with a MacMini live as a monitor than a regular monitor
Why don’t you just use the multitasking capabilities of the iPad?
Is there a reason you need to see your computer while you’re performing?
Being that I would be using my IPad Pro as a monitor for my MacMini when playing live then yes I would need to see it if I was playing a solo gig. I know I could switch to SongbookPro which I have on my IPad to read through my songs and still be able to play my piano sound from GP. I can’t get my Airturn Bluetooth pedals to work with my IPad so I can’t switch pages with a foot pedal like I’m able to do with GP very easily. So it’s more of a convenience.
So rather than Airturn (which never worked well for me), what about an inexpensive MIDI Pedal like the Keith McMillen Softstep? Connect that to your computer via USB and then, via Gig Performer, send commands to your iPad to turn pages.
Airturn worked on my IPad Pro initially pretty good but after a few IOS updates it stopped working lots of attempts and frustration trying to get it to work again! I will check out that pedal you mentioned. Thanks for that tip
And hopefully a bit more…
