Open GP with rackspace/variation pane smaller or minimised

Hey y’all,

Just getting into GP in my life. Loving it so far. I have it booting with login items and want to just show me the rackspace with out rackspace/variation list. I was not able to figure that out.

Im not really using multiple rackspaces. Just hosting a piano and synth plugin. which is used at all times.

Any advice? Thanks

A rackspace has at least 1 variation.
So I am not sure if I understand you correctly
Can you upload a screenshot showing the issue?
You can lower the size of the rackspace list by dragging the window border with the mouse.

Then you need to check out the Global rackspace.

See here: Common VSTs in Global Rackspace - #3 by npudar

I know that i can drag the rackspace list to be smaller. But what I would like is to have it open up with rack space list hidden as a default. Eventually, I will make more rack spaces so I don’t want to just go to global. I will probably make some global things too.

Basically, I want GP to open and be viewing a rackspace that fills the whole screen as default. No lists, no menus. Im trying to make the mac as “hardware” like as possible. I have set the mac to log in without password so with GP as a login item in mac it will launch upon boot. I only press the power button and GP is ready to go sound wise.

The issues i’ve run into with this are:

–If i have it boot into fullscreen mode, my monitor will show me the desktop of my computer, not the maximized GP window.

– The rackspace window needs to be manually made smaller/hidden, wish to be automatically hidden.

Hey Piano Paul,

Here is how it opens by default.

here is how i’d like it to look upon launch:

Maybe it is as simple as just using a global rack space for now?? But i’d rather have it be a regular rack space and then use a key command to show the list.

What happens when you save the gig filewith size reduced and restart gig performer and open the gig file.

Move the separator?

It will stay the width you set it to–but it’s not a gig file-specific adjustment. Meaning, it will be set that way for any and all gig files you open.

Is there a different way to save a gig file other than the “FILE>SAVE/SAVE AS”? I open my gig file, move the pane divider to show only the rack space, file>save, QUIT, reopen gig performer and the list/variation pane comes back to the regular size. Am I missing something?

I think that’s happening because of the GP Hint section in the lower left corner being enabled. If you hide those, the divider will stay where you put it.

Wow, that did the trick. Kind of an obscure implementation. But now I know.

Thanks for all the support on this one y’all.
