Estudio 528 has released Subtitle Viewer VST3 a teleprompter plugin (VST3) for windows.
The developer told that a release for mac will follow, but needs to be tested by users because of the lack of a mac.
Maybe of interest for one or the other.

Interesting - not sure exactly how one controls it (host automation parameters?, time code? MIDI messages?) but it would be nice if he supported something similar to what Mobile Sheets implemented on my request which is the ability to just use pitch bend messages to navigate directly to specific places in a song.
@Stoffel
Did you try it? The web site is pretty much like the beginning of WWW.
The site says it’s
“synchronized with your favourite DAW’s timeline”
The position is controlled by timecode. I’ve requested some automation via midi.
The defeloper is very thankful for tips to make his app better.
I’ve tried it.
I think the look of a homepage does’nt say anything about the quality of the offered apps.![]()
You’re 100% right - and it’s worse when there’s a great website and a lousy product.
That said, people do unfortunately make a correlation between the quality of a website and the quality of the product being sold.
In theory, two independent things.
In practice… When you decide to sell something, then it’s different. To me first impression (and any other) is important factor when evaluating something.
The developer just answered to me:
I hope forum users like it and find it as useful as I do. I’ve just started with this, so everything is a bit upside down.
I’ve just uploaded version 1.1 of the plugin with the features you asked for so you can test it. If everything works well, I’ll start compiling a version for Mac as soon as possible.
Fastest update to feature requests ever!!![]()
Please support this guy and tell him the features you want to be added. ![]()
Glad to hear he’s responsive.
I couldn’t get the subtitles to display or scroll properly. I’m already using LivePrompter 2, and it uses .txt files, so I’m unlikely to switch over to Subtitle Viewer VST3 since I’d have to reformat all those files. I do see the benefit of this being a VST3 inside a plugin host rather than a separate app. Good concept, I hope it can continue developing into something useful for people.
