New live rig set up

So I will have my main 88 key lab, and on top my new Roland ax edge keytar -

Is there a seamless way to use it wired midi via usb and the power cable most of the night but when I have leads in the front of the stage to unplug both power (batteries take over) and wireless midi (currently working though widi master) without any major changes

Would need to do this quickly

Are you on Mac?

yes on a mac - and when I say quickly - I mean quick to unplug and roam and quick to reconnect - maybe even during a song

especially quick if widi master starts freezing again! (ill be looking for a more stable wireless midi solution eventually)

You could try a MIDI aggregate device

any recommendations of what that would look like - the other option is just to make sure the wireless connection is solid

My mistake, there is only a Audio Aggregate Device.

Maybe that could work:

In the global Rackspace include MIDI In Blocks for your USB Connection and WiFi Connections
Connect both to an IAC Out device.

In the local rackspaces use the MIDI In for IAC.

So whenever MIDI data are coming from your USB Connection or WiFi they are routed to IAC.

Maybe a stupid question:
As each physical MIDI device is avlailable for Gig Performer, why not connect the USB-Device and the WiFi device in parallel to your plugins?

Another option is use the application MIDI Pipe
Here you can combine several MIDI Devices and send out to the a virtual Midi Pipe MIDI out.
In GP you can use this virtual device.

this looks interesting - Im wondering - should I set up the Generic MIDI Channel routing with Rig Manager first? I should have mentioned that I have widi master in a small remote keyboard and we will likely be adding a few remote widi channels to automatically change guitar and drum patches for each GP song. But the main set up is my keytar - wired, then widi during the show.

Panda Midi has always worked great for me.
