The CD has been produced mainly with Logic. In the creative process before mixing and mastering I have also used Gig Performer. There are videos for every song on the CD:
Purchased. Delivery from Germany to France due on Wednesday, the 2nd. Loved the bass line in the song you posted. My price was 12 € + 4,something € for shipping.
Thank you, let’s keep that 80s Fusion Spirit alive!
I was about to ask you if that was your Mustang, then realized it was all CGI.
What did you use to put together the videos?
Good stuff, by the way.
In the past I have used Runway, in the moment I work together with a guy who is using KlingAI.
Your CD arrived a couple of hours ago. I’m on track 6 at the moment. I’m really enjoying it. The CD packaging is excellent and reminds me of my old stomping grounds in northern Arizona (Flagstaff, 60-90 minutes east of the Grand Canyon) before moving to France. Providing a download code was very cool, as was ripping at 320K. Vielen Dank! Now on track 7.
EDIT: Being a bassist, I like track 9 the best. It’s true to its name “Bass Lines”!
Thank you very much for your kind words. I am not only a big Zappa-, but also Marcus Miller-Fan. So something like Run for Cover was the inspiration for Bass Lines. I hope that you are not disappointed when I tell you that the Bass Playing comes from Plugins. The Plugins I use for Slap Bass are mainly Scarbee Jay Bass and the Waves Bass Slaper.
I don’t have a CD player but I found it on Qobuz - very interesting music.
Can you explain how GP fit into this album?
Not at all. I have over 15 basses, but I also have EZBass, MODO Bass, some UJAM basses, all of the Scarbee basses for Kontakt, and assorted others, including bass RealTracks in Band in a Box.
Qobuz - never heard of it. I didn’t know that the music can be found there too, but ok why not.
I have explained my workflow here already a couple of times, but I can understand that you can not be aware of everything. So I have a very exotic workflow for my Cover Songs and my own compositions. Some things are simply directly recorded into Logic, but often I prefer to work on arrangements in Guitar Pro and I use Gig Performer as the Plugin Host for those arrangements because Guitar Pro so called “Realistic Sound Engine” sounds very cheesy. I do this because I like the Score and Tab Editor from Guitar Pro more than the Score and Tab Editor of Logic. I play Guitar (with a Roland MIDI Pickup) and Keyboards. So sometimes I might have recorded something into Logic as MIDI than I export it into Guitar Pro. I find the best sounding instruments for the sequence in Gig Performer. I fine-tune my sequence in Guitar Pro and then when everything sounds good to me. It get’s back into Logic for final Mix and Mastering. I don’t know if this sounds very complicated, but I have got used to it. So I would say it sounds more complicated than it is.
Qobuz is a french company that lets you stream hi-res (including FLAC when available) and often up to 96k
