I recently “upgraded “ from a Focusrite 8i6 to a MOTU Ultralite Mk5 to have more outputs and inputs. Latency has improved. However, I am unable to use it for Windows audio and Gig Performer at the same time. I was able to do this with the Focusrite. I usually run Spotify when learning a song for a cover band and play along with it. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to make the MOTU do it. If I run Spotify alone, it works fine, but as soon as I load Gig Performer, I can no longer hear anything from Windows. For now I switched back to using the Focusrite until I can figure out the issue with the MOTU. Just checking to see if anyone has an answer to this. The problem is definitely with the MOTU, everything works simultaneously with the Focusrite.
This probably means that the MOTU Ultralite Mk5 ASIO driver is not multi-client. There are solutions for using several applications at the same time without a multi-client ASIO driver, but if you really have use cases that require you to use several applications at the same time with the same audio interface, you should rather use an interface for which the manufacturer provides a multi-client ASIO driver optimized for its product (e.g. RME and others).

You might look into VB-Audio Matrix if your budget doesn’t support buying yet another interface. You should be able to test it for free. I would recommend you look at latency while testing.

According to info I see on the internet, MOTU driver is in fact multi-client. I will experiment some more and see what I come up with, thanks.
The Motu drivers support multiclient, so I think you may have something set up incorrectly.
Did you install the Motu windows drivers for the Mk5 first? These are required.
In the Device tab in the Cuemix software, did you check the various boxes to allow Windows to connect to the correct ports?
In GigPerformer, I assume you’re connecting to the Ultralite via ASIO?
Some pictures of your GigPerformer audio setup and the Device tab from Cuemix would be useful to see for diagnosis.
