Mobile Sheets & Gig Performer on the same Mac

I have a Mac mini that I’m trying to setup communication between Gig Performer and Mobile sheets. Both programs are running on the same computer. I want to have chord charts in Mobile sheets selected to match what I’ve selected in my Gig Performer set list.

I watched the Gig Performer live stream on doing this exact operation, but the developer was on a PC, and he said he was using a 3rd party application to send midi between the programs. He also stated that on a Mac it just works, but unfortunately it is not working for me. The only documentation I can find on this is for connecting to an iPad running Mobile Sheets. Is there anyone who can help me with this setup?

This is how I intend to have them on my monitor.

If you are on a Mac, then it’s easy — just enable an IAC MIDI port and use that for communication between the two applications.

Just make sure that you do NOT use any MIDI In Omni blocks and instead use MIDI In blocks tied explicitly to your hardware - that will avoid any MIDI loops.

Hi,

Thanks for the method. I’ve set it up as “bus 1” in the Mac midi studio, and also in Mobile Sheets, but I can’t see where to set it up in Gig Performer? I am assuming it should appear in “midi ports”, but it’s not there, and I don’t understand how to add it?
