Im on my Mac - I have been regularly using the same gig file as I build and edit my rackspaces -
I spent a few hours working on Whip It! and saved the gig file
then I opened up the recent gig file and created a new set list. saved the set list
I know I saved the rackspace before I shut down - but now I don’t see Whip it in my rackspace ANYWHERE.
is there a way to find it on the computer and maybe import it into the gig file again?

Sure, search for it on your computer and import it.
There’s no backup system in GP.
what would be the search string

If you saved it as a rackspace, then its a .rackspace extension I believe. That’s how it is on Windows. I don’t have a Mac to verify.
not there - I think the rackspace would need to be exported to have that rackspace file.
opened every possible version of my gig file where I could have accidentally saved it? not there.
this is awful
I think you accidentally removed that rackspace or did a rename.
This is the first time I heard that a rackspace disappeared.
Strange - the crazy thing is all the sound smithing I did was saved in their respective VSTs - so at least im not starting from complete scratch…

You saved the set list as a (new) gig file?
Maybe you didn’t save the gig file itself (with the new setlist you created)?

Check the Trash Bin
Restore from Time Machine (if you have a Time Machine backup)
Recover from iCloud (if you save to a location that is synced to iCloud)
Use a data recovery software (Disk Drill or EaseUS, for example)
