Here I use an electric kalimba, or mbira, through an elaborate guitar rig, experimenting with pitch shift, reverb, delays, reverse delays, filters, tape emulators, and so forth. The kalimba has a built-in piezo pickup, which I run through an LR Baggs Para piezo preamp into my Neural DSP Quad Cortex, and then into my computer for further processing in Gig Performer using a wide variety of plugins.
