I am using a numa organ as a midicontroller for gigperformer. I connected the controller with a din cable to my Focus Scarlett 4i4. In Midi ports it comes up as midi in 4i4 so far so good everything works. Now yesterday at a gig we lost all power and my scarlett was unconnected. When the power came back on and the scarlett reconnected gigperformer replaced 4i4 with usb midi in. I had to map everything again. Same device but first came up as 4i4 and the second time as usb midi in. I don’t understand how this could happen. Does anyone have experienced something like this or have a solution?
It sounds like the MIDI connection may have reverted from a Scarlett driver to a class compliant USB driver. But the overriding take from this is you should be using Rig Manager to look after the MIDI inputs. and control aliases. In a similar failure condition, this would just require reassigning a single device input in Rig Manager and you would be good to go.
